There are many jobs that require us to sit at our desk for long hours, and since it’s not particularly healthy to keep sitting for long hours, many have discovered alternatives so that we go about our jobs but also care about our health. For example, someone with a desk job can go for a standing desk, this allows them to get their work done without having to sit for too long. Some have opposite jobs, ones that require them to keep standing for hours, surgeons often need to be on their feet for hours during an operation. Now there’s an alternative for people who have jobs that need them to stand for long hours. Take a look at the Archelis, it’s a wearable chair from Japan, and it has been designed particularly with surgeons in mind. Even normal surgical procedures can take a few hours due and it’s not uncommon for complications to arise during procedures, complications that the surgeon has to resolve regardless of how long it takes. The wearable chair will allow the person to sit for a while and thus reduce fatigue induced by standing for long hours, even though it has been designed for surgeons, it will prove to be effective for people who jobs that require them to keep standing. This chair has been developed by Nitto, a mold factory based in Yokohama, in partnership with Chiba University’s Center for Frontier Medical Engineering, Hiroaki Nishimura Design, and Japan Polymer Technology.
