Hypercalcemia is a disorder that most commonly results from malignancy or primary hyperparathyroidism. Too much calcium in your blood can weaken your bones, create kidney stones and interfere with the way your heart and brain works.
Calcium levels in the body are tightly regulated. The regulation of calcium is primarily controlled by vitamin D, calcitonin, and parathyroid hormone (PTH).
