Infant dies at hospital after being transported in fire truck

September 16, 2016 By Rana Waqar Leave a Comment

COLUMBUS, GA – An infant girl has died after she was rushed to Midtown Medical Center late Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say 4-month-old Autumn Trotman was transported to the hospital in a Columbus Fire and EMS truck because all ambulances were already on other calls.

We’re told the father put the baby down for a nap Wednesday around 3:30 p.m.

Sometime later, the mother found the baby unresponsive and called 911.

The girl was loaded in a fire truck, and they transported her to Midtown Medical Center.

Autumn was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m. in the Midtown Medical Center ER after attempts to revive her.

No foul play suspected, and no cause of death could be determined. The body will be sent to the GBI crime lab in Decatur for autopsy.
